Good To Know

Frequently asked questions

It depends what you're after: traditional tavernas like Metaxi Mas and Santorinia Tavern, fine dining with a view like Emfasis or La Coline, or seafood by the water at Ammoudi Bay. Fira, Oia and Imerovigli all have excellent options.

Oia is the classic โ€” Fanari, Aspa and Oia Gefsis all have beautiful sunset tables. Imerovigli (like Suropo and Pezoulia, the latter with a direct view of Skaros Rock) is a quieter alternative with equally stunning views. Book ahead for sunset seating.

Yes โ€” the good restaurants fill up most nights in summer, especially for sunset tables. Reserve in advance rather than hoping to walk in.

Away from the busiest caldera terraces โ€” spots like Metaxi Mas near Exo Gonia, Stani Tavern, and the seafood tavernas at Ammoudi Bay are local favourites.
