Where you stay on Santorini matters more than on most islands, because the areas are genuinely different holidays. The caldera villages give you the view and the price tag. The beach side gives you space, swimming and a fraction of the cost. Inland gives you quiet and the real island. Here's what I'd actually book in each, at every budget.

About the prices

The prices below are rough starting points for a double room, not quotes. Santorini rates swing enormously by season — the same room can be €90 in May and €300 in August. Expect the highest prices in July and August, much better value in May, early June, late September and October, and the lowest rates outside the season. Always check live dates before deciding.
