3 Days in Santorini
Most visitors get Santorini wrong because they try to see everything at once. This three-day plan is how I'd spend it โ mixing the iconic with the overlooked, and leaving enough time to actually enjoy each place.
Arrive & explore Fira
Arrive, check in, and walk the caldera path in Fira to get your bearings and your first cliff-edge views.
Cable car down to the old port and lunch at Ammoudi Bay โ fresh fish, โฌ25โ40, tables almost in the water.
Walk back up and along the rim through Firostefani to Imerovigli, the highest point on the caldera.
Sunset from Imerovigli โ a better view than Oia, with a fraction of the crowd.
On the water
Boat tour departs from Ammoudi Bay โ the best way to understand the shape of the island is from the sea.
Hot springs swim, a caldera stop, and lunch on board as you sail beneath the cliffs.
Return to port, then head up to Santo Wines for a sunset tasting of volcanic Assyrtiko.
Dinner in Pyrgos village โ 20 minutes from Fira, and home to the best tavernas on the island.
Villages & the hike
Start the Fira to Oia caldera rim hike โ bring water and sun protection, allow 3โ4 hours.
Arrive in Oia and explore the quiet back streets before the crowds peak.
A long, slow lunch in Oia โ you've earned it.
Pick up an ATV and drive south to Perissa beach for a swim in the black sand and warm sea.
Drive back via Pyrgos for a final, quiet sunset from the castle ruins at the top of the village.
